Well... It took over a year to build. Some people thought we were crazy and said it was a waste of time. They would ask, "Why build such an intense website when there are third-party sites like Facebook, Twitter and Myspace?", the answer is, I wanted to do something different. I wanted to create an independant place for my fans to go and get the real music and information they are looking for. i want my fans to know that when they are looking for a lyric, that they are getting the real thing and not a generic site trying to sell ads. I wanted fans to be able to create their own user profile and have their own page (bk.com/username) and be able to do really cool stuff within that page. I wanted to create the most authentic and extensive resource for my music, and give fans access to stream and purchase my entire catalog. Right now the Music section is fairly limited. We're in the process of getting the rights to display albums i've performed on as well as friend's records that i think you would love. I wanted a place where you can find official T-shirts, merch and even non-Ben Kweller items, like recording tape. We noticed a year ago that Austin didn't have an authorized dealer of ATR Magnetics tape, despite a local need for analog tape from myself and bands like Spoon, Okkervil River and various local studios that still record analog. My new label, The Noise Company, recently became Austin's ATR tape dealer and are now offering these products to you via this website! So, It's here. It's live. And it's all for you!
